(Makes 5 servings of 150 mL (2/3 cup)
STOVE-TOP METHOD
- In a saucepan, combine Dainty Rice, Spice Mix*, and 125 mL (1/2 cup) of cold water.
Optional: add 15 mL (1 tbsp) of vegetable oil.
- Using MEDIUM heat, bring to a gentle boil while stirring and continue cooking
for 4 to 5 minutes, until water is absorbed.
MICROWAVE METHOD
- In a microwave-safe casserole dish, combine Dainty Rice, Spice Mix* and 125 mL
(1/2 cup) of cold water.
Optional: add 15 mL (1 tbsp) of vegetable oil.
- Cover and microwave on HIGH for 3 to 4 minutes. Remove the cover and stir.
- Cover and continue to microwave on MEDIUM-HIGH for 3 minutes. Let stand until
water is absorbed (2 to 3 minutes), then stir and serve.
Microwave ovens vary. Actual cooking times may vary from those suggested above.
*Spice Mix: A little more, a little less, you decide how much is best!

For easier removal of rice from can, fill can with warm water and let soak
for 3 minutes. Drain water, and prepare as above. Enjoy!

Chicken Stuffing
Place contents of can of Dainty Delmonico Rice and contents of
envelope into a bowl. Add 45 ml (3 tbsp) of melted butter, 125 ml (1/2 cup) diced roasted
bread, 125 ml (1/2 cup) diced celery and 125 ml (1/2 cup) water or chicken broth. Mix well.
Stuff chicken. Roast.
Delmonico Salad
Prepare Dainty Delmonico Rice according to cooking directions. Cool.
Add 125 ml (1/2 cup) diced cucumbers, 125 ml (1/2 cup) sour cream, 10 ml (2 tsp) fresh lemon
juice or cider vinegar. Stir well. Serve cold.
