STOVE-TOP METHOD
  1. Bring 625 mL (2 1/2 cups) of water to a vigorous boil in a saucepan that has a tight fitting lid.
  2. Add 250 mL (1 cup) of Dainty Long Grain & Wild Rice.
    Optional: 5 mL (1 tsp) salt, 15 mL (1 tbsp) butter or margarine. Cover saucepan.
  3. Cook over very low heat for 25 minutes without removing lid, until all water is absorbed. Fluff lightly and serve.
Plum Ginger Chicken Salad (Serves 6)

Ingredients:
  • 1 to 2 cups Dainty Long Grain & Wild Rice
  • 2 cups cooked boneless chicken breast cubes
  • 1/2 cup sliced green onions
  • 4 plums, sliced
  • 2 tsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
Instructions:

Prepare wild rice as directed; cool at room temperature. Combine rice, chicken, green onions and sliced plums in large mixing bowl. To prepare dressing, combine oil, lemon juice, soy sauce and ginger; pour over rice mixture and toss lightly. Chill until served.
