Madame Benoit's Cookbook

A famous Canadian food authority, writer, lecturer, radio and television personality, Madame Benoit considered herself to be a homemaker first. She turned to TV as a vehicle to inform the people of her home and native land about Canadian cooking. She also published some 30 books to generate interest in her field. Madame Benoit studied at the Cordon Bleu and held a degree as a food chemist from the Sorbonne in France. She opened a cooking school in Montreal. In 1973 Madame Benoit became an Officer of the Order of Canada.

Madame Benoit was Dainty’s spokesperson for many years. During that time, she developed a number of recipes specifically for Dainty rice. We hare happy to include some of Madame Benoit’s recipes here, and we remain grateful to her for this and all of her work in the name of good food.
